Marcella grew up in Sacramento, California, in a diverse and vibrant community. From a young age, she was active in sports, music, and the arts, and developed a deep love for animals. One of her earliest driving experiences was learning to drive her father’s 1926 Chevrolet, which sparked a lifelong passion for cars.

Marcella also has a strong interest in languages and cultures. She previously studied Italian and is currently studying Spanish and Dari. Her greatest passion, however, is serving and working with people from all walks of life, reflecting her deep humanitarian values.

Marcella studied Music Performance in college and spent more than 25 years as a music teacher and performer. She currently teaches at Tacoma Music Academy. With a passion for public service and a strong appreciation for the diversity within the performing arts community, Marcella expanded her career path to serve the public in new ways.

She spent several years working as a corrections officer in both city and prison settings, and later served five years as a police officer in Washington State. During her time in law enforcement (2009–2013), Marcella received specialized training in vehicle operations and emergency response driving through the Washington State Patrol’s Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC).

Throughout her career in public service, Marcella found particular fulfillment working with teens, at-risk youth, and families in need. She has also enjoyed teaching students from many different cultural backgrounds and countries, including Ukraine, Nigeria, Kenya, and Afghanistan.

Since March 2022, Marcella has been a certified driving instructor with the Washington State Department of Licensing. She is excited to be part of the team at Complete Driving Experience (CDX) with Tara and looks forward to helping students of all backgrounds gain the skills and confidence needed to drive safely.
